Liliums belong to the prettiest and most stately bulbs and are specifically suitable for using between shrubs and perennials.
Their different flowershapes vary from trumpet and turbanshapes to flat, hanging, sstanding up and horizontally.
Many lilies are easy to grow but when the soil or wind wouldn't provide the best conditions you might very well put them in pots and put them in a sheltered place.

Plant directly:

Some lilybulbs are sold in Autumn (Martagon Purper and Martagon Album) while all others get harvested than and are stored till spring. It's best to buy them as soon as they're available and plant them immediately after.
